this is something thats been a fairly common question from people whenever the topic of "warriorship" happens to come up... and 90% of the time, the answer is never communicated adequately, because at the end of it all, they still dont understand exactly what it is...
mostly, they cant see the distinction between concepts like "soldier" and "warrior", or "freedom fighter" and "warrior", or even "violent thug" and "warrior"... its all just the same to them, "people who do violence to other people"...
after trying patiently to explain that not all warriors are soldiers, and not all soldiers are warriors, and that one has nothing to do with the other, except that those warriors picked soldiery as their profession, you can see the confusion... go on to explain that there are warrior-dentists, or warrior-stay-at-home-parents, or warrior-construction-workers, but NEVER violent-thug-warriors, or purse-snatcher-warriors, or mugger-warriors and you can really see their eyes start to glaze over... by that point youve pretty well lost them... forget about trying to explain the finer points of selflessness, compassion, sacrifice, etc...
however, i read a news story this morning that i think helps explain it a little bit better... and its a prime object example, because we've got both warriors and thugs on display, to help make the distinction even more obvious...

and if you still dont get the distinction after that... well, all i can say is get the fuck out of my country, youre so clueless youre both disgusting and dangerous... but hey, im sure france would be glad to have you...
