i am genuinely amazed at the level of hateful babble about former president reagan in the few days since his death... im not amazed that people disagreed with him, or even that people hate him (hard to be leader of the free world and not have people hate you no matter what you do)... this isnt a question of his politics or administration... no, what this is is just amazement at the total disrespect for the dead...

is it REALLY so hard to keep the negative stuff to yourself for a few days? cant people wait for the guy to be put in the ground at least? im not saying dont express your feelings about him, im just saying wait a few days!

hell, this isnt even about respect for reagan... you know how they say funerals are for the living, not the dead? well, keeping your damn yapper shut is the same thing... you can dog reagan all you want, but i assure you that embalmed piece of meat in the casket wont hear you, never mind get its feelings hurt... news flash: reagan is GONE! but his family and friends ARENT... and this has to be a hard time for them... so if youre so filled with hate you just cant bring yourself to do even a basic human courtesy for reagan himself, just try to wrap your black shriveled heart around the idea that just maybe youre hurting OTHER people who dont deserve your wrath, like his living friends, family, and admirers...

please dont think this is inspired out of some personal love for reagan or anything... id make the same case if clinton died tomorrow... this is inspired out of a desire to help people think about something other than themselves for a few minutes...

but then, i imagine once someone is so dead inside that they have to be reminded of this, chances are good the reminder is wasted anyway...
