theres a reason these are songs of the "whenever" and not songs of the "day" or "week" or even "month"... believe it or not, making a song of the whenever selection is kind of a pain in the ass. i have a staggering music collection (staggering to me, anyway, especially when you consider i actually bought all of it) and picking just one isnt easy. i try not to repeat artists (although ill have to at some point i supposed) and make an effort to select some fairly deep cuts, stuff its likely you wouldnt have heard even if you listen to the same kind of stuff i do. even when i filter my list down to just 5-star tracks, im left sifting through close to a thousand songs.

this time, im going to mix it up a little. i usually listen to stuff thats pretty soothing... stuff with a good groove that plays well in the background when im doing something else. sometimes, however, you dont want to be soothed. sometimes, you just have to drop the bass.

this track is well outside the norm for me. im not a rap fan. i dunno why i like it. probably a combination of the subject matter, and the hypnotic beats and rhymes. whatever, i like it.
