ok so i just watched "Moon" and all i can say is holy shit how is it i had never even HEARD of this film until a few days ago?? this movie is without a doubt a modern classic, and will doubtlessly join movies like 2001 as one of cinema's sci-fi greats.

watch it. seriously. its really, really, REALLY good.

Holy crap. I *just* watched this, like two days ago, via NetFlix download. I think it's more in line with cult film than classic (I never really cared for 2001, anyway)... but yeah, classic sci-fi. Loved it.

yeah thats how i watched it too, the only reason i even heard of the film is because i have an rss feed for all the new additions to netflix streaming... i had never heard a word about it before seeing it there. i thought it was FANTASTIC. i mean i was glued to the screen the whole time. great, great movie.

Yep, me too. Even Chloe was like, "What's going on? Why is he doing that?" And I could see the director was a good storyteller, so I just said, "Watch." And she just sat there and got into it.

I love movies that don't treat you like a retard. And Sam Rockwell is a very interesting cat.

i hadnt thought about it like that, but youre right... i think it was so gripping for me because it "watched" the way a book "reads"... i love that they didnt spell out for you what was happening to the older clone, and didnt make some overt in-your-face statement about anything, but left it to the viewer as a participatory thing, a conclusion youre lead to consider but not forced to consume.

its more than good sci-fi, its good filmmaking...

jen and i watched District 9 last night. we both enjoyed it. not what i was expecting it to be at all.

You see, you guys should listen to me more often... because I evangelized this movie to you at a barbecue last summer. Everyone was too busy loving/hating District 9 to pay attention, though.

Sam Rockwell should have won the academy award... I can't imagine how hard it is to carry a movie of that complexity by yourself.
