today marks the end of 6 weeks on my new diet and fitness regemin.
so far, ive seen a lot of fairly ambiguous subjective changes... stuff like "i feel better" and "i have more energy" and "im sleeping better"... but all of those are the kinds of things im perfectly capable of convincing myself of so i dont feel like ive been wasting my time. ive also seen some objective results in the form of weight lost, but that can also be misleading. i dont just want to change my weight, i have to change by body composition, ive got to get my body fat percentage down, or else im just spinning my wheels, and possibly doing myself more harm than good.
so today, as a sort of 6-weeks report card, my trainer and i took my measurements again, and recalculated my body fat percentage.
the results are absolutely unambiguous. in 6 weeks, i have:
* lost 2.5 inches off my waistline.
* lost 1 inch off my hips.
* lost 2 inches off my thighs.
* lost 17.5 lbs.
and most importantly:
* reduced my body fat percentage from 31.5% to 30%!
i consider this to be a real accomplishment... i am just ridiculously pleased with myself.
