this excerpt from a 2005 article in Time magazine, How the U.S. Is Getting Beat in Online Gambling, is such a perfect example of America's identity crisis (Ruth Parasol is one of the founders of Party Poker):

"[Ruth] Parasol's history has filled the pages of British tabloid newspapers this year largely because of her involvement in online pornography and her investment in a company that made adult videos--activities that, ironically, have fewer legal encumbrances than gambling."

internet porn is probably even more repugnant to the christianistan fundie sheeple in america than online poker... but they cant do a damn thing about it, because good old-fashioned SMUT of (almost) all varieties is legally protected... see, as far as the supreme court (and the constitution, by extension) is concerned, adults in america have the freedom to seek out and beat off to whatever they want, and no cross-toting jesus-mullah can do a damn thing to curtail that freedom.

and yet, the same government that has protected the freedom of adults to be perverse has decided that i am NOT free to play a bit of cards while i wait for my porn to finish downloading... that on some nebulous moral grounds, gambling is so heinous that it MUST BE STOPPED, and free choice be damned.

well, i say thats bullshit. the internet unlawful gambling prohibition act doesnt have one damn thing to do with morality, and everything to do with money.

wake up, you bible-thumping evolutionary-dead-ends... the folks in the government like sen. frist DO NOT REPRESENT YOU. they dont give a damn about your dead god, his dead book, or his dead code of morality. what they care about is campaign contributions, re-election, and getting sucked off by their 16-year-old male office assistants, right after they look you full in the face and condemn the gays and sex predators. and they are USING you as a means to those ends...

sigh you know, i had a clear point i was trying to get to when i started this entry, but i have become so incoherent with rage i cant even remember what it was... so i think ill just go with the easy "christians, please, just shut the fuck up" and be done with it. the end.
