that would be march 9th, 2007. what happens then, you ask?

i will be watching what looks to be the most kickass theatrical presentation ever of one of the most kickass battles in history, the battle of Thermopylae... one of the best examples ever of terrain as a force-multiplier, King Leonidas and 300 spartan warriors (along with 1100-some-odd volunteers) defended the pass of thermopylae against (by some accounts) as many as one million warriors from the persian empire commanded by emperor Xerxes... it was the ancient world's battle of the Alamo. its been one of my all time favorite battles ever since i did my senior paper on it in high school, and the prospect of seeing frank miller's highly stylized vision of the battle on the big screen just makes my hair stand up...

King Leonidas is my kind of guy. when ordered to lay down his arms, he replied "Molon Labe!"... "Come take them!"
