its deja vu all over again... now, a whole new generation of children can grow up like i did, complete with duck-and-cover nuclear drills in school, and knowing where all the local public fallout shelters are, and how to find one if you aren't near home...
i actually think this is a good thing... the youth of america NEED more fear in their lives... it is pretty clear to me that the prolong lull in american fear since glasnost and the end of the cold war is was a large contributing factor to the lack of vigilance and overall weakening of american power that allowed the 9/11 attack to happen. of course, that introduced some fear, but not the deep, pervading, fatalistic "the world could be gone tomorrow" kind of fear that generation "Y" really needs to shock them out of their somnabulistic ecstasy-induce haze.
no, you need THE BOMB for that.
now, some of you might be thinking to yourself, "wtf is wrong with this guy?? he WANTS our kids to live in fear?? WHY?" and the answer is a simple one: you cant get OVER fear if you dont have any fear to get over... stay with me for a minutes here folks, and im sure it will make sense, even though you probably wont agree... personal power in almost all its forms is connected directly to overcoming fear, it lies in acting decisively and with conviction regardless of the circumstances or danger. no, it does NOT mean be an idiot and go off half cocked. its doing the hard thing even though you know very well its going to be your ass for doing it, because youre no longer AFRAID of the threat. but you have to BE afraid to start with, and have real threats to be afraid of, to get to this point...
when you remove those threats, that fear, what you wind up with is what we have in america today: a bunch of whining, simpering, pathetic PUSSIES who are more concerned with trying to UNDERSTAND the people who are trying to kill them than they are with the fact that they ARE trying to kill them... people who are so disconnected from the basic truths of human nature they are unwilling to see that the way to ensure the safety and prosperity of their nation and their families is by the threat of overwhelming force and the willingness to use it, up to and including burning the atmosphere right off the planet if necessary.
you need the bomb for that, also, incidentally...
there is no doubt that 9/11 woke the sleeping giant again, as it were... but its looking like he's going to need some serious physical therapy to get back into fighting form, and remind the world just exactly why they need to find someone else to fuck with... the middle east was a good warm-up, although i still think we never should have made that about WMDs... fuck WMDs. bush should have gotten on the tube and said "we're going to the middle east, and we're going to kick the everloving SHIT out of anyone who so much as LOOKS at us crosswise. why? because you FUCKED WITH US!"
so now that we're getting back into reminding the world about that big stick we swing, i think north korea is a good place to continue swinging...
